“Entertainment wants to give you what you want. Art wants to give you what you don’t know you want.” – DAVID CRONENBERG
“I want to give you something that you don’t know that I didn’t know that you wanted. Without knowing you, I want to give you what I want you to want.” – MARY PEARSON

Inspired by ‘high’ and ‘low’ culture, the 70’s, unintelligible academic language, classic crooners, Rihanna, Scouse female fashions, dereliction and shopping centres, The Sand Dog Cometh offers: Virtuosity? Intellectual stimulation? Distraction? Provocation? Catharsis? Dear Audience: What is it you care about? A multi-disciplinary solo homage to the avante-garde, to kitsch, shtick, snobbery, trash and easy laughs.

Written, directed, and performed by MARY PEARSON (USA/UK). Visual collaboration with SOPHIE MALMBERG (DK/Berlin).
With support from Decoda, Liverpool John Moore’s University, The Bluecoat, Liverpool Hope University, and Arts Council England.
