Moved Series…Summer 2015- Simple Actions, excavating memories with Ana Mira
Booking deadline Friday 12th June with payment due by Friday 19th June
When we rest deeply surrendering into gravity through movement, our awareness and tonicity of the flesh changes as our bodies open to relation with others – body, stone, resonance.
We begin with sequences of simple actions as rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, curving-uncurving, folding-unfolding, bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, running and so on…and more, like rolling to stand, curving to go down, folding to reach, leaning to fall, pushing to stand and so on so on. At this moment we aim to search for that continuum plane that sustains the danced gesture.
Then we elaborate with another set of propositions such as tracing the periphery of the room through movement, making a movement sequence from a geography of touch in which the environment of your actions can be the body of the other moving that you learn with your eyes closed, carrying someone across the space, making a list of wonders, making a dance with the choices you just left behind.
We take moments for reflection on our experiences during the workshop, articulated with a few selected dance essays that will be distributed beforehand.
