2 Day Workshop
The workshop will offer processes incorporating moving, witnessing and touch to deepen sensory awareness and mapping of our bodies. This will lay the ground for creative exploration, structures or scores supporting improvisation and composition, with the opportunity to traverse between solo, duet and ensemble dancing.

Kathy studied Theatre at Dartington College of Arts where she first encountered Release Dance with Mary Fulkerson and Contact Improvisation with Steve Paxton and Mary Prestidge.
She teaches Contact Improvisation (CI), Choreography and Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Since 1994 she has contributed to many Dance and Performing Arts programmes in Higher Education in the UK. Teachers who have inspired and supported her practice include artists such as Kirstie Simson (UK/USA), Miranda Tufnell (UK), Nancy Stark Smith (USA), KJ Holmes (USA) and Thomas Kampe (UK).
As a performer she has appeared in work by Steve Paxton (USA) and Laurie Booth (UK), Yolande Snaith (UK/USA) and Motionhouse Dance Theatre (UK). She has collaborated with Tim Wheeler (Theatre Director UK), Sarah Goldfarb(Choreographer/Composer Belgium), Michael Mayhew (Live Art practitioner UK), and Paul Bartholemew (Musician / Composer UK). Last year she worked with choreographer Jia-Yu Corti and performer Robert Anderson and later this year she will perform in work devised by Florence Peake. Kathy has also created work with people in a wide range of educational and community settings.
Kathy is a member of SOFt, a collective of artists with a mutual curiosity for exploring ensemble performance, CI and improvised music. Other influences include studies in education, psychology, shiatsu and somatic practice. She is currently studying for anMA in Dance and Somatic Well Being at the University of Central Lancashire.
